Rebuilding my ACL without heavy loads? Yes. Low load. High stimulus. Smart rehab. BFR training uses partial arterial occlusion to create a local hypoxic, high-metabolic stress environment, allowing low loads to drive strength and hypertrophy adaptations. This enhances fast-twitch fiber recruitment, anabolic signaling, and neuromuscular efficiency—while minimizing joint stress. In ACL rehab, BFR helps limit quadriceps atrophy, restore strength early, and improve muscle activation when high mechanical loading isn’t yet tolerated—supporting safer, faster progression. Cuff pressure is typically set as a percentage of limb occlusion pressure (LOP), commonly ranging from 30-80% (exercise load is regulated according to the chosen LOP and 1RM %), adjusted to individual blood pressure and limb size. Always use BFR under the guidance of your treating professional.
